One banana short of a fruit hat

I know many of you are asking “Brent, just what are you all doing over there? You’ve been working on this album for nearly five years!”

Of course, what I’d like to tell you is that 100 songs is, well, a lot of music.  The process, from conception to demo to first pass in the studio to recutting to mixing to final mix, can take anywhere from days to weeks, even months or years.  And that’s per song! So multiply that by 150 or so in-progress tracks, and you SHOULD have an idea of why it’s taking so long.

I say “should” because the actual truth is that an appreciable amount of time is actually spent grafting pictures of our faces onto pictures of other peoples’ faces, and in fact, sometimes onto food items.

For instance, we could have written the next great modern dance sensation, but instead, we did this:

Glenchee:

Sunday saw the arrival of Ultra Pulverize’s road crew, who set up their gear in preparation for their appearance on “Centennial”.  The last few collaborations have mostly been via email, but this most recent song, “We Got Snack Attack”, is going to be an up close and personal kind of affair.

Glen is nervous to be in the same room as UP gear.

What wonder does this case hold?  Tony Robot’s beat machines? Korgenbootz Korg and Boots? A gross of blue blockers and headbands?

Valuable Ultra Pulverize items.

Synth Tech and Microphone Tech get into an argument about the placement of DI’s in the room.
