Of Debutantes past

Former member Arls Carlis died on September 15th, 2006, just as Les Debutantes were traveling to Indiana for a service. It was a considerable blow to Lockwise and many feel that things aren’t the same. Funny how we don’t stop once it’s essentially over. Sorry to see Arls Carlis go. May the Mirror’s Gaze echo his sentiments to the visions we all share in harmony…..as one people.

From his tombstone, an excerpt from the lyrics of his one Centennial song, “Die in a Fire”:

Die in a Fire

Who here doesn’t want to die in a fire?
You are 0 for 88 and all the time is expired.
Exponentially tired,
Then a pat on the rear.
You see better from here.
“Wanna die in a fire.”
